Field record
It holds its body rigid and mottled brown among torn kelp fronds, drifting at exactly the speed the current carries loose plant matter, so that for a long while it reads as debris and nothing more. The instant I hold the drone still to look closer, it breaks the imitation at once — color flushing pale, mantle flaring — and jets backward trailing a thread of ink shaped like the shard it was pretending to be.
Habitat
Catching it
A Coastal-tier catch needs at least a Fine Mesh Net— anything under that rating can never hold it, whatever the throw. Bought at the Quartermaster’s counter for 90 crystals. A held net inks this entry for good and pays its ledger bonus on the spot.
