It only runs in the coldest, blackest water at the very bottom of the midnight dark, where even the smokers don't reach and the lamp seems to travel half as far as it should. I tracked one for nine metres before the beam simply lost it — not fled, not hidden, just outpaced by something that knows this water better than light does.

Catching it

A Midnight-tier catch needs at least a Braided Net— anything under that rating can never hold it, whatever the throw. Bought at the Quartermaster’s counter for 300 crystals. A held net inks this entry for good and pays its ledger bonus on the spot.
