Field record
This is not the size an angler is supposed to reach, and the lure it trails is correspondingly larger and dimmer, a coal instead of a candle. It surfaces in my logs only a few times a year, always alone, and each time I catch it the lure has already gone dark before I can get the drone close enough to see the face behind it.
Marginal note: “the lure goes dark before you ever see the face”

Catching it
A Abyssal-tier catch needs at least a Heavy-Gauge Net— anything under that rating can never hold it, whatever the throw. Bought at the Quartermaster’s counter for 850 crystals. A held net inks this entry for good and pays its ledger bonus on the spot.
