Shelfclinger Crab
Petralatus marginis
Twilight6 cm carapace · Clinging · sidling
Field record
It works the underside of the rock shelf in a strict sideways shuffle, and in all the hours I've logged it has never once released every claw at the same time. One anchor point stays fixed while the others test the next hold, a slow negotiation with a ledge that could easily hold all six legs at once.
Marginal note: “never lets go of the ledge with more than one claw at a time”

Depth range600–1,300 m
DiscoveryNo special condition — found simply by piloting close enough to identify it.
Catching it
A Twilight-tier catch needs at least a Fine Mesh Net— anything under that rating can never hold it, whatever the throw. Bought at the Quartermaster’s counter for 90 crystals. A held net inks this entry for good and pays its ledger bonus on the spot.
