Downslope Angler

Esca declivis

Midnight22 cm (lure included) · Drifting · descending

Field record

I know this one from higher water, where its lure blinks on a slower rhythm than anything native to this depth. Here it keeps the same rhythm, still hunting the same way, just further down the wall than the old charts say it should go. I have followed one lure light down two hundred meters before losing it against the rock.

Marginal note:same lure pattern the drone logged three hundred meters up, still descending

DiscoveryNo special condition — found simply by piloting close enough to identify it.

Catching it

A Midnight-tier catch needs at least a Braided Net— anything under that rating can never hold it, whatever the throw. Bought at the Quartermaster’s counter for 300 crystals. A held net inks this entry for good and pays its ledger bonus on the spot.
