Needletail Eel
Acuticauda obscura
Field record
Its tail narrows to a needle point and the rest of its body follows it through cracks that should not take anything larger than a cable. On approach it does not panic or thrash; it picks the nearest seam in the stone and threads itself through with surgical speed. A stunned specimen hangs in the water for only a moment, long enough for a careful net and no longer.
Habitat
Catching it
A Abyssal-tier catch needs at least a Heavy-Gauge Net— anything under that rating can never hold it, whatever the throw. Bought at the Quartermaster’s counter for 850 crystals. A held net inks this entry for good and pays its ledger bonus on the spot.
